TBWK 2014 wrap-up

December 22nd, 2014 | Posted by Sarah in Blog - (Comments Off on TBWK 2014 wrap-up)

What a weekend! Thank you everyone who came to the To Bethlehem with Kings concerts. We had a great time, and we hope you did too.

For four of our boys, it was their first concert in the mens’ sections of the choir. This fulfills one of Nick’s ambitions for the choir, to have boys stay with Capella Regalis to move to the mens’ sections as their voices mature. We also had very fine performances from boys in the treble section who ably filled the gaps left by the young men now in the alto and bass sections.

We’re pretty sure that anyone who attended the concerts will be thinking about the terrific reading from “A Child’s Christmas in Wales” for quite a while.

Thank you: Musique Royale, Christ Church (Windsor), St John’s Church (Lunenburg), St Mary’s Basilica (Halifax),  Marianne Green, the Maritime Brass, the concert volunteers, all of the parents, our transportation team, Halifax Transit for their support of the transportation programme, The University of King’s College, the King’s College Chapel community, the University Chaplain – Fr Thorne, our Advisory Board, all of our donors who make Capella Regalis possible, and with apologies to anyone who has been mistakenly left off this list. We are so fortunate to have so many supporters!

We wish you a Merry Christmas, and look forward to seeing you at Evensong in January. (Watch the Events page for dates)

To Bethlehem with Kings – 2014

December 19th, 2014 | Posted by Sarah in Blog - (1 Comments)

We’re on the road with our annual Christmas concert, To Bethlehem with Kings, starting tonight at Christ Church (Anglican) in Windsor, NS. We have some new choristers on tour this year, and some of our old choristers are singing in new sections with maturing voices. It’s going to be an exciting weekend of performances in Windsor, Lunenburg and Halifax, NS.

Our Halifax concert includes the Maritime Brass ensemble. Three of the brass players is particularly excited about the event this year because they gets to ‘gig’ with their sons, Capella Regalis boy choristers.

Here’s the information for all of the performances – we hope to see you this weekend.
